Retreat Agreement and Terms & Conditions
Agreement & Expectations
The very nature of our 'Release, Reset & Recharge' Women's International Retreat, that being a group of Women getting together for a week in a different country, possibly Women who are complete strangers who are all there for their own reason, means it is of the utmost importance to create an agreement between you (your name), the individual guest and myself the host, also as an individual in order to ensure the best possible retreat experience for all. Although you are attending the retreat for your self and for you time, keep in mind that this is a group experience and so by default you are part of a greater whole and therefore in addition to being true to yourself and ensuring your needs are met by the decisions you make, your contribution to the group dynamic in terms of how you conduct yourself is of vital importance to the whole experience for everyone.
It is inevitable that on such a retreat there will be a diverse bag of personalities coming together. Every Woman attending the retreat will have their own: story; life experiences; beliefs; fears; joys; boundaries; opinions; quirks and challenges to name just a few. We may have women who are extroverts; introverts; neurodiverse; sensitive; confident; loud; quiet. Again the list goes on. Regardless of the diverse personalties within the group, each and every Woman is valued, loved, respected and celebrated for who she is. In order to create a group dynamic that fosters harmony and a sense of safety, regardless of your individual personality type, it is important that you can whole heartedly agree to the following agreements:
At all times you will:
- Endeavour to ensure that you are participating in creating a retreat experience for both yourself and your fellow retreaters that is a safe; calm; accepting; non-judgemental; encouraging; compassionate and empowering.
- Remember that this retreat is your time for you, as much as it is for your fellow retreaters so throughout the retreat, be honest about what you need
- Be mindful of your own needs and that of the individuals in the group
- Be respectful of other peoples time and how they choose to use their time during the retreat, which may be different to yours.
- Understand that you may connect with some and not with others and intellectually embody that this is perfectly normal and ok.
- Be respectful and accepting of other peoples boundaries, opinions and ideas even if they differ to yours.
- Ensure you are clear with your own boundaries (if applicable)
- Speak honestly, openly, respectfully and calmly if anything arises that requires you to do so
- Express any concerns or issues that may arise, with the retreat host without delay
- Acknowledge that your fellow retreaters are on their own journey with their own experience, and they too have agreed to this.
- Acknowledge that the retreat activities and itinerary may be subject to change without notice
- Acknowledge and take full responsibility for your own health and safety for the duration of the retreat
- Take ownership of your own behaviours, how you speak too and about others and how you conduct yourself, and do so in a manner that is in keeping with the values, essence and integrity of the retreat
- Acknowledge that, should an unexpected situation arise where the retreat host needs to make a professional decision for the health and safety of any of the guests, the host will always err on the side of precaution. You agree to accept and respect the hosts decision knowing that the decision has been made prioritising your health and safety.
- Accept responsibility for your own choices which may lead too you being asked not to participate in retreat activities, ie: the consumption of alcohol prior to exercise or a swim.
- Agree that your retreat host or a fellow guest can gently bring you back to this agreement should you momentarily fall out of alignment with the values herein, and that you will endeavour to receive the said reminder open heartedly.
